Discover the World will temporarily assist vulnerable children and families in Kenya providing food, clean water, tents, mosquito nets, clothing and other items needed as a result of famine, dislocation or internal conflict. Its efforts are guided by Kenyan organizations with which DTW has working relationships. Although its primary focus is typically on long-term solutions to these problems, occasionally DTW finds it must act when life is threatened and it is the closest agency to respond.

In recent years, Discover the World has provided:

• Tents to shelter children whose orphanage was burned by localized violence.
• Clothing, food, water for children and communities affected by drought
• Walking bridge connecting people to needed resources
• Mosquito nets and water filters to combat malaria and other air and water born diseases
