Mission
To encourage, train and assist people in responding personally to the physical and spiritual needs of the communities we serve. Discover The World’s focus is on serving children at risk, currently demonstrated in communities affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Values

- Accountable & Transparent: Through our board and staff, we hold to the highest levels of accountability and integrity in all matters financial, contractual, relational or spiritual. We connect our supporters with the recipients of their funds and resources. Our work and our operations are accessible to all stakeholders – board, donors, sponsors and clients.
- Walk the Talk: We model truthfulness, tenderness, honesty, openness, compassion, and care in the delivery of our services.
- Advocates: Ours is a calling to provide hope and love to those with great need but limited resources.
- Bridge-Builders: In our efforts to connect resources to needs, we will strive to provide opportunities for personal relationships to be created and maintained between the various communities we serve. Through volunteer service and frequent communication, we will present the people of the USA to the people of other nations as compassionate, caring, and respectful partners in the journey to wholeness and self-sufficiency.
- Inclusive: We welcome partnerships with people from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds.
- Effective: We evaluate our projects continually, seeking to produce results that reflect the intentions of our supporters, the needs of our clients, and the standards of our board.
Service Model
We choose to accomplish our mission by:
- Creating and actively maintaining mutually beneficial strategic partnerships in the US and abroad, leveraging strengths and assets through timely, transparent, accurate communications and in face-to-face relationships;
- Engaging our international and U.S. supporters in hands-on transformational experiences that demonstrate the work, the value of their investment, and the results of ministry;
- Maintaining our U.S. identity, standards and expectation of quality as we provide resources, advice and accountability;
- Ensuring excellence in communications with supporters, partners and clients served;
- Demonstrating our commitment to listening to and learning from those we serve; and
- Building sustainable operations, funding mechanisms, and outcomes in our ministry.
